| About the Class & Teachers |
We’ll examine farming practices and various food choices, along with their related environmental and health impacts. We’ll look at corporations and their involvement in the food and diet industries – and how marketing doesn’t just affect what we buy, but also what we think and feel. We will be looking at how we relate to food; students with a history of eating disorders may wish to discuss this with the teaching team. We will be trying to keep our environmental impact as small a possible, and ask our participants to follow suit; resources will be provided via e-mail and in electronic formats, and printed materials will be kept to a minimum. (If computer access is an issue and printed resources are needed, please let us know.)
When a new session is announced, transportation options for the location of the class will be posted.
We will be sharing meals at every class; please be prepared to bring a place setting and your dinner or a potluck offering. A green dish station will be provided.
Work exchange options include helping with set-up, clean up, green dishes, and other logistical considerations. Please e-mail the teaching team to discuss arrangements. | ||||||
